Thanks so much for this. It also helps out those who have Rogers as their DNS resolver.
I often need a resolver other than my ISP's when I am on the road or someplace else with my laptop. I just don't trust the DNS resolver hosts served up by WIFI hotspots, etc.
Thanks a lot guys, this is exactly what I was looking for. Good idea.
It has been working very well until this morning. Is that a problem on your end? I'd like to get off this fake Time Warner DNS service but it's all that's working right now.
You guys are awesome. This is a long time coming, as a small ISP trusted reliable resolvers are hard to find. You really do put the "EASY" in DNS management. I look forward to testing this NOW. While the guys at OPENDNS have an awesome product, the application doesn't lend itself to public use. As a policy we DO NOT filter, tamper or redirect our customers internet experiance in any way shape or form. We don't even provide "spam protection" at our level.
GREAT JOB GUYS keep up the great work
This service has one issue, same like OpenDNS - GeoLocation based websites like Google and many others.
When I am in Asia or Europe and I use your DNS (or any other in the US) I am being sent to US website, instead of site near to me. This leads to slower load times.
Thats great. You both have pet products that compete one way or another with eachothers flagship product.
OpenDNS has their free EveryDNS service. EasyDNS has their free DNSResolver service. thanks for the choices folks. for the record, I use opendns, everydns, and easydns. have not tried dnsresolver yet, just found out about it now.
Any news or updates on this service? Do you anticipate to continue it further? As a member for over 8 years, I've come to trust and rely on your products, but I understand that this open resolution service is a different case and don't want to bank on it if you're having second thoughts...
Thanks, and as always, you folks do a great job. I really appreciate your service. -WP |
Hi There, There is a new DNS Cache poisoning disclosure that has been inadvertently leaked before it was scheduled to be released by Dan Kaminsky (IOActive). This is a very serious flaw in the DNS protocol that impacts caching resolvers, like t
