sporadic relay access denied errors

Update July19


The email to members about this had the wrong date, this happened yesterday, July 18, not July 17 as reported in the email.



Individual mail reports will be sent out shortly.

This afternoon and tonight (tuesday) one of the new servers in the 205.210.42.52 pool
(the smtp.easydns.com cluster) got seriously out of sync with the rest of the cluster and caused spurious "relay denied" errors on some of the inbound mail that hit that particular server.

We've pulled that host out of the pool and are currently trying to review what exactly happened. The rest of the mail pool is functioning normally.

We'll be sending out an explanatory email to all affected users later today
(wednesday).

In the meantime, we are very sorry about this.

is there any way of retrieving the emails that were not forwarded on. The emails that were not pushed through to my business were for our customer support department. I may loose these customers if I cannot respond to their queries.

We can't recover the email for you but you should have received a report for your domain listing the senders and timestamps of any emails you did miss.

This enables you to contact those people asking them for a resend.

If you haven't gotten the report yet, contact support and tell them the domain name in question, we'll send another copy out.
